Lincoln, Maine is a small town of about 5,200 that is
the retail and community services hub of the 10-town
Lincoln Lakes region of northern Penobscot County,
Maine.
 Located about an hour north of Bangor off of Interstate
95, Lincoln is home to
Lincoln Paper & Tissue Co.,
LLC, the nation’s largest manufacturer of tissue paper
products;
Penobscot Valley Hospital, the center for
primary, emergency, and acute care in northern
Penobscot County; and
Health Access Network, a non-
profit health service organization that operates four clinics
and serves more than 13,000 people annually.
 The region's educational needs are met by
RSU 67, a
public school system that includes
Mattanawcook
Academy
and Region III vocational-technical school.
Lincoln is also less than an hour from three universities
and colleges, including the
University of Maine's Orono
campus and
Husson University.
 
With 12 of 13 lakes, streams and ponds entirely within its
borders, and the Penobscot River nearby, Lincoln offers
fantastic recreational activities and access to some of the
best snowmobiling in the world. It is also about an hour
south of Mount Katahdin and
Baxter State Park. The
